Naturopathic medicine is a holistic approach to health and healing that focuses on treating the root causes of health issues. It combines traditional healing practices with modern medical science, emphasizing natural therapies, lifestyle changes, and prevention to support the body's innate ability to heal.

MDs (Medical Doctors) and NDs (Naturopathic Doctors) both play crucial roles in healthcare and receive similar levels of training. MDs follow conventional medicine, utilizing pharmaceuticals and surgery to manage symptoms and diseases.
NDs also complete a four-year doctoral program, but their training encompasses a holistic approach to healthcare.
NDs gain hands-on clinical experience and undergo rigorous licensing exams to demonstrate competency in both conventional medical sciences and natural therapies.
NDs study natural therapies like herbal medicine, clinical nutrition, physical medicine, homeopathy, and mind-body techniques.
Their education emphasizes treating the root causes of health issues, considering physical, mental, emotional, and environmental factors.
They focus on prevention, promoting self-healing, and empowering patients to take an active role in their well-being.

No, the term "naturopath" is not regulated, meaning anyone can use it without formal qualifications. This lack of regulation can lead to varying levels of training and expertise.
On the other hand, a licensed Naturopathic Doctor (ND) is a legally protected title that signifies extensive education and licensure. NDs complete a thorough medical program encompassing natural therapies, conventional medical sciences, diagnostics, and patient care. They are authorized to provide comprehensive, evidence-based healthcare. Choosing an ND ensures that you're receiving care from a qualified professional who has undergone rigorous training and adheres to a standardized level of competence.

Certainly, there are specific considerations regarding this arrangement. My licensing is valid solely within the state of California. As a result of these regulatory limitations, I am unable to fully practice naturopathic medicine in its entirety for individuals located outside California. However, if you reside elsewhere, I'm more than capable of assisting you as a health consultant, although I cannot be your doctor.

At present, naturopathic doctors in California operate on a cash-pay basis, as insurance coverage is not currently accepted. We do accept payments made through HSA/FSA cards. We recommend checking with your provider to ensure it is approved for use with naturopathic doctors.

The duration of treatment varies based on your condition, its severity, and how well you respond to therapies. We focus on setting realistic goals and creating sustainable, long-term improvements in your health. The frequency of visits often varies throughout the course of treatment. In the initial stages, more frequent visits might be necessary to address your specific needs comprehensively. As progress is made and your health stabilizes, the number of visits typically decreases during the maintenance phase. This personalized approach allows us to provide the most effective care tailored to your journey towards optimal well-being.
